Types of Braces

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the traditional braces used most often for patients of all ages. They consist of brackets that are cemented to the front of most teeth and bands around the molars. A wire is run through the brackets to gently move teeth into proper position. Choose colorful elastics to make your smile all about you!

Ceramic Braces

Identical components are used in ceramic braces. However, they are made of a translucent material. The wire is visible, but these braces are much less noticeable.

Lingual Braces

Even less conspicuous than ceramic brackets, lingual braces adhere to the tongue side of the teeth. These are not an option for every patient and can be difficult to get accustomed to.

Clear Aligner Therapy

We offer a completely customized aligner option for our patients. Similar to Invisalign®, Rappahannock’s Clear Aligner Therapy straightens teeth invisibly.

We utilize iTero® technology to digitally scan your teeth and gums — no more messy molds — and create a plan for your treatment. Our 3D printing technology creates the necessary sets of aligners to help you achieve your optimal smile.
