When Should I Get Braces?

It’s common to schedule an evaluation when all of your baby teeth have fallen out, and most of your adult teeth are in place. In some cases, such as severe crossbite, crowding, or protruding teeth, we suggest early intervention. We may use palatal expanders to widen the upper jaw or tooth extraction to make room for the adult teeth.

Ask your family dentist if they feel an early assessment and treatment would benefit your child.

Teen Braces

Many kids in their early teens begin orthodontic treatment. It’s helpful to start in the 11-13-year-old age range, because so many of your child’s classmates will be experiencing the same situations. Your teen has several options for braces, and we are happy to discuss them with you.

Teeth Straightening for Adults

While we can’t change the bone structure for adults, we can straighten your teeth. Together, we will discuss your options for braces and what you can expect. Ensuring good dental hygiene is even more important as adults because we are more prone to periodontal disease.
